Introduction

After looking at the possible briefs, for our A2 media coursework we have decided to produce a movie teaser trailer as the main project, and alongside this, create a magazine front cover advertising the film, and then a movie poster. We have chosen to do this, as we feel that we are most able to perform well in this tasks as our group have strengths in both film and print.  Before we begin to produce our own work, we will research existing trailers and genres before going on to looking at locations, actors, props etc.

For our A2 media coursework we have decided to create a horror/thriller film trailer. We have been coming up with various ideas and looking at many trailers such as 'The Pact', 'The last house on the left' and 'The house at the end of the street'. Our aim for this piece is to make sure we capture the scary essence that horror films portray. Also, we need to make it very clear to the audience what genre the film will be. From watching many trailers we realise that we have to capture the imagination of the audience by using shots and scenes that are quick in pace and quite shocking/scary/thrilling in content. Aswell as this the music which is used for the trailers has to be chosen specifically to reflect the scary atmosphere of the trailer.
